Aberdares & Solio,
Camps and Lodges

The roof of Kenya

The Aberdare National Park (also Nyandarua National Park) is located in the highlands of central Kenya at 2000 to 3999 m above sea level, about 100 km north of Nairobi. The National Park got its official name after the explorer of the region, Lord Aberdare, a former president of the Royal Geographical Society.

Just off the Aberdares lies the private Solio Reserve. It is known for its rhinos, which are actively protected here.

This reserve will also be visited by us as part of the Aberdares visit.

Sandai-Ranch

The Guest Farm / Lodge Sandai consists of a large cozy farmhouse and two guesthouses (cottages) with four guest rooms. The guest rooms are equipped with shower / bath and toilet.

In the main house of the farm / lodge there are two more guest rooms sharing the bathroom and the toilet. The guesthouses are comfortably furnished. Kitchen and dining room are located in the main house. At the large dining room table, you share your meals with other guests and the owner family. The cozy living room has a fireplace where you can listen to stories about Africa, safaris and adventures.

Electricity is generated by a generator and a solar system. The guest houses are beautifully embedded in blooming flowers and shady trees. You will quickly find yourself in the peaceful, relaxed atmosphere and listen to the voices of the African savannah.

Riding at Sandai Ranch is unique in the region.

You do not need to be afraid of animals. The animals are a long way from humans and more afraid of you than the other way around.
